The issue in my book was that Brian didn't communicate with anybody that was around him. By the end of the book he was able to reconstruct his relationship with Jessie and talk to his mother about Michelle's death. The ending was very realistic because it was just Brian and his mother reading the letter Michelle left Brian and the note he wrote to his mother.
I really enjoyed this novel because it made me think about how some people cant handle some situations and different ways people handle things. This could be relatable to teenagers' lives in certain situations because Brian and his sister were both teenagers and there are some people in the world that go through a death and dont handle it well or have other things happen to them and they handle them by cutting, getting into drugs/alcohol or completely cutting off all communication with everybody in their lives.
